PARIOT PARK Yeol'SMEMORIAL

About the Patriot Park Yeol's Memorial

  • Patriot Park Yeol's Memorial

Park Yeol contributed a poem entitled "Gaesaekki" (lit. son of a bitch) to a youth magazine, and Fumiko Kaneko read the poem and was deeply moved in that she was able to associate herself with him. Together with the Korean students studying in Japan and Japanese thinkers, they organized ideological organizations, such as Heuknohoe and Bullyeongsa. They also published ideological magazines, such as Futeisenjing and Hyeondaehoe, to lash at the impropriety of imperialism and cruelty of the Japanese emperor. In this process, they secretly planned on killing the emperor, his son, and the Japanese ruling class through a bomb plot. This incident created an uproar from the Japanese mass media, and they bravely fought against Japanese imperialism and the Japanese emperor in the heart of Tokyo. The plot was more astonishing because it was engineered by a young Korean man and a young Japanese woman.
Why did Park Yeol's partner, Fumiko Kaneko, take sides with Joseon? Visit Patriot Park Yeol's Memorial to take a look at their story and find out the reason.
