About the Mt. Juheulsan

Mt. Juheulsan forms the central part of Baekdudaegan-Sobaek Mountain Range together with Mt. Joryeongsan, Mt. Poamsan, and Mt. Wolaksan. It stands 1,106 m tall, featuring a beautiful view and preserving the historical legends of Mungyeong Saejae, etc. In old times, Mt. Juheulsan was worshiped as a holy mountain each year as the government provided incense and written prayers for the rites. In addition, Mt. Juheulsan is the principal mountain of Mungyeong Saejae. It boasts of a magnificent shape that is admired by viewers, preserves historical traces in every valley, and offers a treasure of wild flowers.
Mt. Juheulsan has the water originating from the east and west flowing into Sinbukcheon River and Joryeongcheon River, and forming waterfalls in various places. Such typical waterfalls include Yeogung Waterfall with a height of 10 m and pal-wang Waterfall. Nestled in the mountainside is Hyeguksa Temple, while the Mungyeong gateway stands along the valley from Mt. Juheulsan and Mt. Joryeongsan.
