  • History

    For the Gyeongsangbuk-do Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 23-B, Korean paper-making artisan Kim Sam-sik (71 years old) has dedicated all his life in transferring the Korean paper-making skills. He is now the best artisan of Korean paper making. The finest quality Korean paper of Mungyeong was used in restoring the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, the early version of Goryeo Tripitaka, etc.
    The transfer academy was opened in 2015 in Nongam-myeon, Mungyeong, and it has since been operating. Covering a plottage of 1,300 ㎡ and floor space of 234.74 ㎡, the one-story traditional Korean building consists of the Korean Paper Experience Hall and Gallery.
